Multi-Band GNSS is not so new to the world of autonomy. Watch the video below as Walt Johnson explains why we as autonomy enthusiasts should care about it today.

Multi-band GNSS gives you the ability to observe the air in a signal that is retained from satellites where it contains multiple frequencies.

This allows the system to identify atmospheric errors and correct them without using RTK GPS.

It gives higher performance, and you will get higher accuracy in positioning.

Using multi-frequency GNSS allows results of half-meter precision accuracy versus the single frequency systems, which will see one to one-and-a-half-meter accuracy.

You will see faster acquisition times and more robust solutions. When there are outages or when you are doing a hard environment, its system will outperform a single-band system.

With the purchase of our products, you also receive our first-rate service. We have dedicated engineers that will help you with the work that you are doing in the world of autonomy.

If you have questions on multi-band GNSS systems or any questions, contact Inertial Sense to speak with one of our knowledgeable sales representatives, we’ll be happy to answer your questions.

We are here to support you!

Multi-Band GNSS gives you the ability to observe the air in a signal that is propagated from the satellites because it comes through multiple frequencies.

As a result, the system can inherently identify atmospheric error and correct for that without the need of RTK GPS. If you add to a multi-band frequency GNSS system RTK, then you can add to it additionally the precision you would get with RTK.

So multi-band GNSS gives you higher performance across the board, whether you’re using RTK or not. And generally, you get higher accuracy in your position. Multi-band GNSS is the trend of the future. More of the GPS receivers that we find today are supporting multi-band frequency, multi-band support.

So why should you care about multi-frequency GNSS? Our typical customers that use multi-frequency GNSS see half-meter precision accuracy versus the single-frequency systems, which will see one to one and a half-meter accuracy.

So generally, you see faster acquisition times, and more robust solutions. When you have outages or when you go and do hard environments, the multi-band GNSS system will outperform the single band system.

Typically, multi-band GNSS systems cost more. But the added benefit, it outweighs for most people, the cost. And costs are coming down. Multi-band GNSS systems are the way of the future. The price point is there and most people are using them nowadays.

One of the benefits of the products we sell is that it comes with the service. We have dedicated engineers that will help you in the work that you are doing.

Our success as a company is in the success of you as an engineer. So we’re here to help.
