Commercial agriculture is a great market and it’s an even better market for us. Watch the video below as Tom breaks down autonomous navigation for the agricultural market and its benefits for you as a customer and for us at Inertial Sense as a company.

Even though autonomous vehicles are created and designed to make our lives easier, they still require guidance. Programming the autonomous vehicle with parameters of its territory, patterns, boundaries, and obstacles are just a few of what it needs to operate without the human touch.

Our goal is not to replace anyone. There are productions out in the world already that service giant companies and corporations. We like to keep our focus on the size and functionality of a vehicle in the agricultural context.

The benefit of providing an autonomous vehicle with the necessary adjustments for your needs is it cuts out chemicals while allowing the vehicle to operate on a continuous basis.

This is a perfect market for us in terms of a mission to be accomplished, the size of the robotic vehicle, its sophistication, accuracy for performance while manufacturing for our end customer looking for cost savings.

So commercial agriculture is another great market for us, and if you think about it, some of the same dynamics and missions that an autonomous robotic vehicle, what it needs to do in a commercial landscaping mode is relatively similar to what it has to do in a commercial agriculture mode.

There’s some large plot of land, there’s a boundary around it, there’s patterns that have to be executed within those boundaries, there’s obstacles that have to be avoided and gone around, and things like that, they’re very similar in terms of commercial agriculture.

You know, we’re not targeting giant companies and things like that. There’s already people doing that and doing that very well. What we’re really focused on is kind of that same size and functionality of a vehicle in the agricultural context.

One example I’ll give is there’s a lot of movement around sustainable agriculture these days. So there is a platform out there that does intelligent weeding within a sort of continuous intelligent weeding within the rows of a planting field, and they do it with a robotic vehicle that if it does it autonomously can be doing that 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

And what’s the benefit? No chemicals. So you take the weeds out on almost a continuous basis, you don’t need to use chemicals.

That type of application is perfect for us both in terms of the mission that needs to be accomplished, the size of the robotic vehicle, the sophistication, the accuracy that it needs, and as well as the manufacturer, and the end customer looking for the cost savings.

So we fit great into that type of an environment as well, and if you want to find out more about what we do for agriculture, click on the link below or give us a call.
